PREVIEW
Bayern Munich breezed through Chelsea FC in the second leg of their round of 16 tie which honestly looked over in the first leg alone. But now the German champions will face Barcelona in the quarter finals on Friday. This Bayern team shows tons of characteristics of THAT 2013 team that won the treble and they could win the treble again if they play like they have been playing. But you can never write off a team that has Lionel Messi in their lineup.
Barcelona have a had a rocky season, after losing out to Real Madrid in La Liga, and getting knocked out of the Copa Del Rey by Athletic Bilbao in the quarter finals, getting knocked out of the Champions League would be a big blow for the Spanish outfit. With Barcelona manager Quique Setién's position with the club seemingly in jeopardy, he along with the players have a point to prove that they are still the European giants that everyone perceives them to be. But their chances to qualify to the semi-finals couldn't have been slimmer as they have to face a Bayern Munich side that seems on top of their game and are the favorites for most to lift the trophy in the end.
PREDICTION
Expect Hansi Flick to sport the same side he sported against Chelsea. Kingsley Coman is reportedly back in training but still seems to be a doubt for the game against Barcelona. As for Benjamin Pavard, the right back has not traveled with the team to Portugal so we can be certain that Kimmich will be playing in his position for another game. Jérôme Boateng and Alphonso Davies are also back in training after scares of them picking up injuries in the game against Chelsea, but those fears have been put to rest by the coach.
My three predictions for the games have been perfect for two games in a row taking me to a 10/15 score overall. Here are my predictions for the quarter final:
