PREVIEW
Bayern Munich are coming off the back of a 4-0 win to close out the Bundesliga season, as well as completed transfers for Alexander Nübel, Tanguy Kouassi, and a final end to the transfer saga of Leroy Sané. But all eyes are on the DFB Pokal Final on Saturday where Bayern Munich are set to face Bayer Leverkusen for the third time this season. Their last encounter ended in a 4-2 win for the German record champions.
Bayern Munich currently on a 16 game win-streak, haven't been the most convincing team in this season's DFB Pokal so far, with narrow wins in their last 4 games. Bayer Leverkusen at the moment aren't at their best form, with their last 5 games ending in 3 wins, a draw and a loss. Both teams will obviously be looking for the win but in the end it'll come down to which team wants it more.
PREDICTIONS
As for lineup predictions, I expect Hansi Flick to sport the same starting lineup that has started most of the games since his tenure. Based off the lineup for the last game, Joshua Kimmich will be coming in for Mickaël Cuisance and Álvaro Odriozola will make way for Benjamin Pavard to return to the starting lineup. Apart from this I don't expect too much change in the starting lineup.
As for my three predictions, I am now 4/9 coming off the last game, not the best record but a near 50%...I'll take it:
1. Bayern Munich will win the DFB Pokal.
2. Bayern Munich will have less than 60% of possession.
3. Bayer Leverkusen will score a goal.
My prediction of the final score is a tightly contested 3-1 to Bayern Munich.
